About Us

Founded in 2017 by circus artist Alexis Rouvre and visual artist/dancer Tiziano Lavoratornovi, Modo Grosso has quickly established itself as a company known for creating unique performances that deeply explore the symbolic relationship between objects, elements, and the moving body, as well as the space and the audience.

With a strong commitment to research and a desire to foster connections between creators, Modo Grosso aims to cultivate an environment where new and vibrant forms of expression can flourish—without being confined to a specific genre or setting.

Following the success of their European tours with Entre-corde (2019) and Tout/Rien (2022), the company has flourished within the circus and street performance networks, as well as in the realms of puppetry and young audiences. Since 2021, Modo Grosso has been supported structurally by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.

Beyond their creative work, the company is dedicated to advancing research through the establishment of collective research labs (LabCo). These labs are designed to encourage artistic exchange and critically engage with contemporary practices in the performing arts.
